The Eco Warriors led the Assembly this Monday to talk about global warming and climate change. We talked about how our Earth is changing due to global warming and what we can do to help. We also requested everyone in school to save energy as much as we could to help protect our environment. To show our support, we are taking part in Switch Off Fortnight campaign. We hope that everyone will join us in our effort to look after our environment.

Learning the importance of recycling
Year 1 have been learning all about how to look after
the world as part of the theme ‘Teddy’s Travels. The Recycled Garden was a
fantastic place to have Year 1’s Landing Pad as the children and parents were
able to see just how much recycling could be done in their own homes. Everybody
was very impressed with the imaginative way that the Eco Council had used
‘rubbish’ to help grow plants and make their garden beautiful. We certainly
learned a lot about how to look after our world.

Upcycled Desktop Organiser
In Year 6 children are learning about the importance of recycling and upcycling. They have used junk to make a desktop organiser that they can use when they go to boarding school. We are not limiting our recycling efforts to our garden but extending it to other areas of the curricullum as well. This is part of our DT work.
